The mountain got its name for the Nabeyaki-Udon (鍋焼きうどん stone pot noodles) that’s by a lodge at the top of the mountain. Yes, it was an udon hike, I didn’t recall the scenery but the delicious udon was extra delicious after all the hiking effort!
